We do encourage schools to not er, separate the sessions on gender. If you're covering things like periods and anatomy, and we're talking about volvers, everyone needs to know about it. It's equally important for all of us to discuss taboos and tackle stigma. I want to sayat ye, about iam, we have some non non binary people. Oa, yo em seit es, there's that. This week, Hannah is joined by Dolly Padalia and Nathaniel Cole from Sexplain, an organisation that provides comprehensive and inclusive SRE workshops for young people in the UK. Dolly and Nathaniel discuss the work of Sexplain, and the conversations they’ve had with young people around consent, sending nudes, and rape culture. They also chat about SRE becoming compulsory this September, and whether schools are ready for it! Nathaniel also talks about being a straight, cis man working in SRE and why those who are part of the problem should also be part of the solution. Finally, they talk about the reaction of parents around teaching young people sex education.
