CHAPTER

Abolitionists, You Know, Are Not Utopian, Right?

Fray: There are not utopias that exist without distopias to support them. In a lot of, you know, thrilling, exciting future books, there's robots sideboards and other people who are trying to have be ar slave bodies. And instead of treading and being like, "What it means to be alive is to do a certain amount of labor," Fray wants us to look at suffering as entertainment rather than something we're supposed to respond and act on. She says she has total control over what happens in her own life but can't tap into the one ness everyone else feels.
