Ibekin
Ibekin is based on Bluetooth low energy and like Rose said, it's been around for a while. The original pitch for this was like the idea of you going to a museum and your iPhone can know exactly where in the museum you are. I'm pretty sure they're using Ibekins inside the store to do that.
