No Correlation Found Between Internet Use and Mental Health

This chapter analyzes two studies that examine the correlation between changes in internet use and mental wellbeing as well as mental illness over the past 20 years. The studies found no correlation between internet use and measures of mental health, such as depression and anxiety. Despite individual-level effects, there is no societal-level negative effect of overusing the internet.
