The Influence of the Hume Essay on Miracles

The Scottish philosopher David Huw in the 18th century, his essay on miracles in 1748, he, I believe, was a deist. What it did is exactly what Janet said, he in a sense encapsulated this move towards having a world that was knowable and could be discerned. He introduces in a very sharp and stark way, attention with a God who has to intervene into the world to produce a miracle.
