Deuteronomy is a real time story and Deuteronomy is remember back when. So numbers this is happening right after they're free from slavery in Egypt. He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness. For the Lord will not forsake his people, he will not abandon his heritage. Justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
