The scapegoating thing, it seems to me like something that we still see occurring. He actually goes into a sacrificial reading of the gospels and a non-sacrificial reading. It's really just fascinating to look at it from those two perspectives. And our culture has gone from these blood feuds, for instance, to now we have something like the rule of law.
