The Challenges of Rolling Out SRE in a Development Team
Regish: Developers take on call very personally because it impacts their work-life balance. We started doing right at the beginning of SRE transformation was to say, 'We are just trying out whether SRE would be useful for us in our context' So now what we've got is then a development team that's happy with the on call hours by being on call only during the usual business hours. But still that challenges a development team which has never done operations before actually has never had live feedback loop from production.
