What's Good About Race?
Randall Kennedy: Race is a big topic, and i've been wrestling with it. I haven't satisfactorily synthesized my feelings about race in some of my writings. People should not be ashamed of their race. But for the very same reason you ought not t be ashamed of your race doesn't have anything to do with you. And finally, how even somebody who calls himself a chastened optimist, as he does, can hold on to a vision of a better future in the united states.
