For him, dying is associated with life. When we think of death concluding something, it makes a whole. And Blancheau is not attuned to that way of thinking. So perhaps for Blancheau, when we finally get a terminal silence, that's when that is death. All we experience is the passivity of dying. There's only a couple of jokes in the whole of Blancheau's work and they're pretty dark.
