The Importance of Leveling Your Marines

The leveling system is really not there to make your marine intrinsically better. It's the siphon away supply resources into buying them the upgrades that you really need. And late in the game, you need huge piles of resources to get late game weaponry. I think it suffers a little bit from the problem of like by that point in the game the level one marine would just be alien food at that point. But after that, you know, I certainly found a lot of mileage with, hey everybody's taking ammo pouches now we are going these missions with like six, seven ammo six, seven health kits.
