Isn't It in the Interest of Farmers?

In farming societies, women do more housework than men. This is because there's a huge amount of work to be done in the fields. Women are also better able to have babies as they settle down and get older. But this means that when it comes time to harvest food at crunch time,  a lot of female labor is going to be needed. And even in the most intensive agricultural regime, there's going to be plenty of room for male labour too. In every farming society we can only observe the outcome which is that pretty much every farming society came to the conclusion that females were overwhelmingly creatures of the household. That's totally wrong.
