Chat TPT is functionally not that different from other types of AI, but it gives an interface where people are directly interacting with AI. It's been AI that's used on us, at a remove to make sensitive decisions that impact our resources or impact our life chances; we're not directly engaging with it. The focus right now on we need to build AI policy belies that a lot of things that we really need are like labor policy.
