The Basics of Matzah

Under the holiday that we typically refer to as Passover the Torah calls chad ham matzot. For a six day period you shall eat matzahs and on the seventh day there shall be an assembly to Hashem your God. No leaven of yours shall be seen throughout your boundary for seven days, nor shall any of the flesh that you slaughter on the afternoon before the first day remain overnight until morning. You shall not perform labor. When the Torah uses the term Passover whenever the term says Pesach or Passover it's talking about a sacrifice not a holiday. The Passover lamb can only be offered in Jerusalem at the altar.
