Is There a Metaphysics of Causation?
i don't want to get into a big discussion about what does or doesn't count as metaphysics, but these structures, again, are out there in the world. They help to explain why our world is a friendly place for causal reasoning, so to speak. So it's a kind of contingent fact, as i see it, that the causal thinking is applicable to to the extent that it is in our world.
