Samuel Zemuri's Company QML and United Fruit

Andrew Preston, one of the founders of United Fruit, took an interest in a young Samuel Zemuri and he bought a 25% stake in his company. By forcing Preston to sell his shares in QML, the government created a competitive market. It did this by sharing Zemuri the freedom to develop into a genuine competitor. And so as though the Justice Department never filed any charges, the investigation had the desired effect.
