A Fabric That Can Be Stiff or Flexible

Moulds found at a site in China suggest the minting process began there. A new type of medical cast could be draped over a broken limb and then stiffenedo in place. An engineer has been working on so called tunable fabrics that can change properties, such as stiffness or flexibility. The fabric is made from lots of tiny links - they are freely printed and made of plastic.
