The Reframing of the Concept of Power
On all sides here, there is a troubling simplistic dichotomy between powerful and powerless. I think any good left thinking doesn't think that there's any kind of purity in powerlessness. But at the same time, you've got to acknowledge that there are real asymmetries and differences. The way Western feminists have accumulated power has often been wielded against intensely vulnerable women,. So I worry about what happens when we deny our own power.
