A Spacecraft Launched Into Space

A spacecraft launched into space subsequent to our podcast was in November of 2021. It was on a one-way mission to test the viability of kinetic impact on to an asteroid and then redirecting its orbit. The effect is supposed to be small only about a 1% difference in its prior orbit, but that's measurable. On September 26, 2022, about 10 months after the launch, the craft successfully smashed into the asteroid known as Dimorphous.
