The Concentration Camp in the Mind
I found myself literally screeching to a halt when I read the words concentration camera, my and I thought that's very interesting on a number of levels. And then I thought, Oh, God, I mean, so when the book first was published, I felt like I'd got no skin on. So I wasn't writing it for the sake of drama. I was writing it to try and show how our histories affect us and their factors in our work. This is human beings and this is human experience. And we can't cut off our histories and they are part of us.
