Achilles Grief - Is Achilles a Hero?
Homeric literature is the uncontrollable quality of Achilles's rage. There is a very clear sense that Achilles in the moment of rage just goes red or everything goes black for him, which means that he actually loses that self-awareness of what he's doing. The average hero doesn't have that protection or that guarantee or safety net against their own mortality. So they rush into battle knowing that they can die.
