Stephen porges has developed a programm to specifically deal with fear of flying. He says if you fully activate the para sympathetic nervous system so that the vagas nerve is fully stimulated, he says it causes vaga breaking i slows the heart rate down about 20 beats per minute. Just as in the car, if we can get the pari sympathetic nervous system to operate, we can override the stressermon. So i played around with the idea, what about shifting from an anxiety producing thought to some other unrelated kind of thought? It's also useful for people who suffer from varying degrees of clostrophobia and panic.
