In the last three weeks, social media companies including facebook, twitter and youtube have banned russian state media outlets. i think they will be very actively looking for where they can sort of wedge in with anything that, you know, create doubt and confusion among western audiences. Amean one that has come up again again as ther biological weapons. I want to be really careful here. This biological weapon's narrative is a conspiracy theory. It's been recently mentioned by russia's foreign minister,. That does not, by any means make it true.
This weekend, we discuss the power of disinformation, and how Russia has been using it in Ukraine. We are joined by Natalia Antelava, who has reported in Ukraine and Eastern Europe for years. Natalia is editor-in-chief of the popular news website called Coda Story, which focuses on global digital crises, and has been closely covering Putin’s disinformation machine in Ukraine and beyond. We step back and examine the narratives Russia has used since 2014 to confuse, distort, and spread lies.
