The Importance of Culture in Beirut

At AUB for five or six years, I would usually get Lebanese students who grew up in the UAE and other Gulf countries and they would experience this culture shock. Even today, even if you live in a particular country and you don't travel at all, just the exposure you get through your smartphone is going to mitigate that cultural shock.
