Developing Good Practice in Criminal Justice and Journalism

A 227-page report was commissioned in 2018 by the Safe and Effective Justice Advisory Group to Uepu Hapi Etta Order. Report never saw the light of day, but media watchers Hayden D'Nal has read it and talk to the authors. The report delivers a series of recommendations for better practice on crime and justice reporting. It hopes that news organisations might avoid some of the iffy practices of the past. All these things might have helped foster a more nuanced, informed public debate ahead of our current election.
