The Early Phase of Hospice Care
Hospice was a countercultural movement designed to balance the kind of care that people got in, you know, in the high tex superinten hospitals. It wasn't until project on death in america arted in 19 94 when there was a real push to make the field somewhat academic. There were nobasically two or three drugs - morphine and atofhan are among them. The medical approach to these patients was very limited. People were treated in their homes with enormous compassion and care,. which is what was really the antithesis. And itwas o had very good, good instincts.
