The Duke of Clarence
Clarence and Gloucester are both married to daughters of the late Earl of Warwick from the Neville family. Clarence gives both dukes a claim to the Neville fortunes and to become wealthy in their own right independent of the king. Richard of Gloucester takes steps to assert himself with his older brother. Their bitter rivalry now threatens to destabilize the court. The Duke of Clarence is found guilty of treason and executed as legend has it by drowning in sweet mumsy wine.
