There's something related to this that I've seen many times, which is gosh, darn it. Why did we make Ukraine give up those nuclear weapons? The reason why they told Ukraine to give up their nukes is that initially everybody was worried about the possibility that Ukraine was going to become a failed state and start to sell fissile material. And in any case, at the moment, what the American administration wanted to have was to have stability. That's it. Anything else, just a lie, they're just lying.
