Irving Crick and the History of Weather Modification
Langmuir was convinced that he was onto something, but he just wasn't. Like James S.B. trying to light fires in the tops of mountains in Appalachia, Langmuir never recovered his scientific reputation. Crick's strategy was to make a very large array of cloud-seeding because he knew that within a couple hundred square miles of cloud- seeding, there would be some rain.
