Growth Mindset Is Having a Replicability Crisis

Research on growth mindset is having a hard time being replicated at least the size of the effects that were originally found in those studies. In my experience has seemed to be the case that telling players that they're talented very early it's almost as if they become a bit protective of it. I'm hoping coaches take away from the discussion in the book is that this is a really complex mosaic of variables here and not to throw mindset out but just to recognize that for some people mindset is going to be that variable that the message that you give them will be profound.
