Judge sullivan is a little bit of a special case. He was the judge in the michael flynn case. Before that, though, he was the Judge ina in a case involving alaska senator ted stevens. Think that that' led him to have maybe a more sceptical attitude towards the department of justice than some of his colleagues. Judges arent ably powerful. It's just that they don't always exercise that power. A lot of judges are very comfortable deferring to prosecutors.
