Jean jacques desaline was not a beloved man. A lot of his new allies didn't even respect him, but he could not be ignored. He spent the next few months bringing everyone else into his command structure. Since this was now the largest, best trained and most cohesive part of the rebel forces, desaline's word counted for a lot.
