Hypostasis Is the Mystery of Consciousness
The eye is not initially an existent but a mode of existing. We can turn it into an object of our own self reflection, and we can do the same thing with the present. One can have a kantian or bergsonion experience of this hypotasise. What he's driving at here is that consciousness, the mystery of consciousness, which is the great mystery of our time.
