The Role of Neuropsychologists in Diagnosis, Symptom Characterization and Treatment Planning for PD

In Parkinson's disease, 30% of patients have MCI. The cognitive symptoms are quite subtle for a while and maybe don't become too troubling or significant until much later,. But yeah, it is very heterogeneous and difficult to parse out. So what are your thoughts on the role of neuropsychologists in diagnosis, symptom characterization and treatment planning for PD? I'm thinking about either pre-DBS evaluations or standard comprehensive outpatient neuropsych evals and patients with PD as the expert.
