The Conscious We

We think of ourselves as the conscious we, but in fact only 0.0 to 4% of information that we process is processed at a conscious level. We don't often attend consciously to that particular kind of information. So if you did an eye tracking experiment with someone on a page, chances are they wouldn't necessarily look at the peripheral imagery. But those peripheral images that you use, nevertheless, have an impact on how the person feels based on the content within the image.
