Refugees, I'm Not Making Light of Their Situation, I Don't Care for Them

i don't really care for the term refugee. I'm not making light of their situation. And clearly they went thoug harrowing experience. Many of them spent days in flng wars on with their babiesd and so on. But i am sort of struck by how much more sensible people are when you talk to them in person. They want to self identify as our refugee, like it's just one episode in their lives that they're trying to move beyond now and make the best of.
