Mammalian femininity gave us human speech and song, or gave us the potential to use our voices. Other primates have vocal tracts with roughly similar layouts as ours. At least half a million years ago, genetic changes re worked our ancestors brains forging richer connections between memory, speech and hearing. Now our throats and mouths impart layers of meaning to flowing, vibrating air, as if by telepathy.
