The Relationship Between Cold Food and American Industry
Americans have had a real particular and innovative relationship with keeping food cold. Europeans just think we're crazy for using ice in so many things because they look, why do you want that diluted? We get used to things that are cold and it's passed on culturally between the generations. That's just not true in a lot of other countries. The United States is the biggest refrigerators in the world because we are more interested in abundance than we are and price than we are in preserving flavor.
