The Myth of No Limits

Stephen Jay Gould's theory of convergent evolution was triggered by Stephen Jay Gould in one of his set of essays called bully for Bronte Sores. I think it's fair to say that probably triggered a specific interest and at a conference years ago in Cold Spring Harbor where people were talking about similar things so once again there's not a shred of originality in what I'm saying. Ultimately there are limits for instance to the intricacies of the symbiotic associations with insects, bacteria and other organisms. There is no particular rocket science on either side of this coin as Stephen J Gould himself famously said when we look at the end of evolution we find nothing but re-running tape from time to time
