Good explanations can be just good explanations of, let's say, who ones family members are. These are also memes as they go on to get replicated. Not all knowledge counts as being something that is going to be replicated. So it's not mimetic. Let's look at the part of the diagram of labeled C. Here we've got the intersection of knowledge and ideas. And I'm calling that memes, or another way of saying that is that memes are ideas that go on to getting replicated. Many memes are not, as I've just said, good explanations. They could just be cultural behaviors, for example.
