Rawls' Inism Is a Success Story
In Rawls' book, he sets out an account of a just society. This philosophy goes on to really dominate all of political thought within many universities in Britain and the US. It becomes the facility with Rawls' inism become the price of admission into elite institutions. And that, it becomes a very capacious way of looking at the world. So this is a success story. But it's also, as I argue in my book, a kind of a ghost story because Rawls' theory was actually born not in the 70s but in the 1940s and 50s.
