The Importance of Being Aware of Opposition

I think I've been remarkably sheltered in that regard and it's unusual for someone not to face opposition. When I was studying my PhD I didn't think people really knew at all what I was doing so no one ever asked me about it. So not really opposition but more slight indifference like why would you bother spending all your time doing something like that when she had children, small children. But then the principal's job again we were very much under the radar in those years and so I think people just slightly ignored it rather than deciding to campaign against me.
