The Importance of Choosing a Running Career
For some runners, running is a vital part of their life. They may be prepared to take those risks. But as I said, it does need to be an informed choice. This isn't about saying you've had a hip replacement, therefore you can't run. People have returned successfully to run every day after ankle fusions and osteoarthritis in the hip or the knee. With multiple different conditions, I have a patient who's done 100 marathons and both his great toes are totally fused and he's done successfully, no pain whatsoever. So it shouldn't be about the diagnosis, it should be about the individual.
