The History of the United States

I did not go into this having any thought that the name of the country had changed at all. I'd always been interested in the fact that the common shorthand, at least, that I was familiar with for the United States was America. And I just assumed that was there from the get-go. Now whenever we refer to the country as the United States, we get corrected the other way. That's how we've always called it that.
