The Morally Correct Solution to the Conflict Between the Two

A number of solutions have been proposed. My favorite solution is a one-state solution that members of both groups are actually able to share the land together. So why does it matter whether group A or group B was a round x number of hundred years ago? Should we find that claims made about what happened further back in history matter more than claims that happened subsequently? Or is it the other way around?
