Tory MPs must be really worried about this just being irrecoverable, right? The humiliation of this has consigned the Conservatives to oblivion now. This was always going to be really difficult in terms of the world economy. It's global factors but what Liz Truss did and Quasicott owned with that not so many budget was effectively make things worse. Now voters are specifically linking the Tory government with that rise in mortgage rates. And that is very difficult for a party that has obviously prospered on the idea of homeownership to come back fromreally hurting their core voters. I think that just is something which is potentially existential.
