In Josephus's account, it's almost neck deep in mud and water. And they know he's going to die there. So now we have a little hero named Abed Malek and Ethiopian who goes to Zedekiah and pleads for him. Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison until the Babylonians win the siege and Jerusalem falls.
