Introduction
The Queen of Scar is a musician who's had five top 40 singles in a music career spanning more than 40 years. She came to prominence in the 1970s as the lead singer of the two-tone band The Selector, performing alongside madness and the specials. Pauline Black was recently awarded an OBE by the King for her services to entertainment. But throughout her childhood she says she felt like a cuckoo in somebody else's nest. As she puts it, any band is like a surrogate family.
