The Relationship Between Mathematics and the Empirical Sciences
In ancient greeks, mathematics was considered to be the only source of true knowledge. This picture changed dramatically during the times of the scientific revolution when empirical sciences really started to blossom. During empiricist times, it become a mere language of men. And what we see here is that mathematicians have moved beyond concepts that were directly suggested by our experience of physical reality.
