The Supreme Court's Decisions on State Secrets

State secrets doctrine was a judge developed rule in the 19 fifties. It's supposed to be an evidentiary rule m, not a judicial one. The court is supposed to require the government to give some sort of substitute for that information or make available what is not state secrets material. In the criminal context, there's actually a statute that governs this, and that's called sipa - classified information procedures act.
